STI Services are available to all persons without regard to income or place of residence. Services are at no charge to patients. Services are provided by Registered Nurses under supervision of a Medical Doctor. Physicians, Family Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants are available for consultation upon request.
STIs include:
STIs are spread during sexual activities and many people do not have symptoms therefore infecting their partners without knowing it.
Serious consequences such as sterility, heart disease, insanity, and paralysis can occur from untreated or recurrent infections.
STIs can be passed on to the unborn child during pregnancy.
STIs can be prevented by abstinence, condoms, and a monogamous (one-partner) sexual relationship.
Early testing and treatment can help stem the spread of the diseases and also limit development of long term problems. Most but not all STIs can be cured with the right medications. However, all sexual partners need to be evaluated.
