Tuberculosis Information
Tuberculosis control is a state-mandated service. Services are provided to detect and treat known cases of tuberculosis and to identify, screen, and monitor their contacts. Home visits are made by the TB Outreach Nurse to monitor patients who are on anti-tuberculosis drugs. Case finding efforts are conducted through skin testing of high risk groups through clinic services and/or in the community and epidemiological investigations. Consultation and case management assistance is provided to private providers. The Health Department's goal is to provide preventive services to reduce the occurrence and transmission of tuberculosis.
