Moved House Permit Requirements
House move from another county into Johnston County
- Written approval by local certified building inspector or professional engineer declaring the structural integrity of the house being moved
- Upon approval of #1 above, submit both the approval letter and a sealed foundation and footing drawing with a completed permit application to the Johnston County Land Use Center for review and permitting
- Also, you will need to submit a site plan along with an Environmental Health permit and well permit or public water application
- The site plan should contain the following information:
- Lot lines and length of lines
- Location of moved house on lot
- Location of septic tank and lines and the length of the lines
- Distance between house and septic tank
- Location of well and distance between well and house and well and septic system
- Location of driveway
