Johnston Regional Airport (JNX) serves the greater Raleigh metropolitan area and provides the most convenient location for the Triangle region. The airport is home to the Johnston County Economic Development department, aviation-related businesses, Duke Life Flight, and several corporate aircraft and recreational aviators.
JNX is owned and operated by the Johnston County Airport Authority and serves corporate, military, and general aviation aircraft.
Located 28 nautical miles southeast of RDU, it provides convenient access to numerous Piedmont and eastern North Carolina destinations. JNX is the gateway to the Triangle region. The airport’s proximity to I-40 and I-95 puts JNX at the crossroads of booming economic growth.
Opening in June 1978, originally Johnston County Airport, Johnston Regional Airport has grown from a 3700’ runway to a 5500’ x 100’ runway with a newly constructed terminal building. JNX provides patrons with state-of-the-art amenities in a modern aeronautic environment.
